Having finally reached the very distant school, Yukinaya walked around the dorm building, wondering where exactly she was. She absentmindedly flipped a rogue strand of raven hair out of her line of vision, and picked up a crumbled version of what was originally the map of the campus. In a scrutinizing manner, she overlooked it and decided that she was most like lost beyond help.
After emitting a rather defeated sigh, Yuki picked up her bag and proceeded on. Eventually, she found the dorm marked '13'/
'Yeah.' she thought. 'It's my lucky number.'
Finding her key, she unlocked the door and looked around the room for the first time. It looked too plain for her personality with its dull and homely looking walls. The bed seemed cozy enough, and the windows that were protruding beams of light were wide open. Yuki quickly closed the door behind her and through her bag on the bed, Her luggage was already there so that was one less thing to linger on.
She unpacked a bit of poster and started hanging them up. It gave the room a more comfortable and 'livable' aroma. When she finally decided that the dorm was more 'Yuki', she pulled of her jacket. It was thrown and landed somewhere near her luggage. Going through her carry on bag, she pulled out a thick looking book, and started reading from where she left off.

Rex passed by the room, and noticed the door wasn't completely closed. Finally... he thought, relieved he had found someone. He cautiously opened the door, knocking on the wall beside him as he took a few steps in. A brown, obviously often-used messenger bag crossed his chest, and a black guitar case was in his left hand. He extended his neck slightly to get a better look, and saw the dark haired girl sitting on her bed. The edges of his mouth curled upwards awkwardly as his low voice rasped casually, "Hey. I'm sorry, but I have no idea where I am. Do you think you could point me in the direction of the freshman dorms?" One eyebrow raised [Or is it rised? Ack...] as he awaited a response; he had been wandering the campus for at least fifteen minutes, with no luck. Standing loosely with his legs firmly set apart, he absent-mindedly looked around the room. His presence nonchalant and his attitude easy going as ever, he took in the fresh posters, plain furniture and luggage. His steady gaze was focused on the older girl in front of him, but his head was still ringing with a classic Led Zeppelin song.

Yuki looked up from her book to focus on the new comer. She thought for a second that she had seen him somewhere, probably around campus, but then dismissed it as a passing glance. She rose from her bed and put her book away, it would be an interesting read for another time.
"It was a miracle that I even found my own dorm. Did you get a campus map?" she asked, opening the door a bit more so that he could come inside.
"In the mean time, you can come sit, it seems like you have alot of baggage." She admitted, going to close the now annoyingly bright window.

Rex smiled as she invited him, and accepted by dumping his bag on the ground, while carefully placing his sticker-covered guitar case on the untouched bed. He had had a black leather duffel bag in his right hand, and put it on the floor as well. He grinned and shrugged. "Nah, I didn't go to open house. I barely found my way here in the first place," he replied, "How long have you been here? My cousin's around here somewhere, but I'm not meeting her 'til eight tonight." He looked the girl up and down, impressed by her casual style. He sat on the bed, turning to open the latches on the case. He paused and looked to Yukinaya, asking, "You don't mind?" He had already barged into her personal space; she may want some peace and quiet after her probably long trip. The urge to feel the sleek neck of his Gibson acoustic, and twang the tune of Heartbreaker was almost irresistible.

"You can stay until you can find your way around." Yuki said rather easily, not thinking much of it. She wasn't very used to sharing a room with anyone, but now seemed fine. After closing the window, she went over to her bag a rummaged through the confines to find a map. The crumbled little paper was no longer MIA, and she retrieved it. It was in horrible condition, which probably meant trouble for later.
"Lets see. My dorm is right here..." she pointed, holding it up for him to see. "And yours is like 2 buildings away, right about here." she unveiled.
"Wow, that's actually pretty close." she whispered to no one in particular. Yuki then thought of helping him with his things. It wouldn't be much trouble at all. Before she said anything, her eyes wondered over to his guitar.
"Very nice." Yuki said, eying it. "Would you mind playing me a tune?"

Rex peered at the map, a hint of a smirk appearing on his face as he admired the care she had put into it's well-being. He nodded as she pointed out where the freshman building was, and took a mental note of it's whereabouts. He turned his attention back to the guitar by his side, and in answer to her question, opened it's latches smoothly. Picking it up with unhidden reverence, he took a moment to tune it, plucking a few strings like he'd done so many times. After he finished, the music in his head abruptly turned to Smells Like Teen Spirit, a song by the revolutionary grunge band, Nirvana. He began to play, slowly getting louder as the song progressed. His fingers not blundering once, it was a song he had obviously mastered. Music was his refuge. His escape from the world and all his troubles. It was also his passion and center interest, one that always seemed to be on his mind. About four to five minutes later, he finished the song with enthusiasm. He looked up at Yukinaya, his face blank, secretly hoping for some note of accomplishment in her words or expression.

Yukinaya listened to the inspiring melody blissfully, catching even hymn, every note, and every flick of string. In truth, she had heard that song before back home, but there was just something about the way that he played it. It gave meaning to the phrase 'Music to my ears.'. She shook her head in acknowledgment to show that it did indeed effect her in a positive light. Yuki herself could only play bass, but that was a long time ago. She doubted that she could play it any better now then then. The dark haired girl started clapping, feeling that the nod just didn't do the piece its justice.
"If you have any concerts, make sure to invite me." she smiled, getting up off the comfortable bed to get her jacket. It suddenly felt a bit cold in there, and for her, cold was bad. Chances are, if she had ever taken up residence in Antarctica, there would be problems.
"So, would you like me to escort you to your dorm?" Yukinaya asked, emphasizing the word escort with finger quotations. " Or would you rather chill a bit longer?"

"Shows? I'll be sure to let you know," he said, a semblance of a smile playing at his lips. He raised an eyebrow as she emphasized the phrase, accepting her invitation with the remark, "Sure. Could you help me?" He replaced the guitar in it's black cover, putting the beat-up messenger bag across his shoulder once more. He gave a nod at the duffel on the floor, the thought of it being too heavy never entering his mind. With a flick of his hand he ruffled his dark hair, shaking his head to get the full effect. He got to his feet slowly, letting Yukinaya take the lead, as she was the one with the map. He looked admiringly at her jacket, stating simply, "Nice jacket." He was always the first to speak his mind.

"This thing is centuries old, it'll never be nice again." she chuckled, holding up the disheveled map and trying to make heads or tails of it. The writing was impossibly small, and the directions just seemed plain out far fetched. She shrugged it off as bad printing, and led the way down the nearest staircase, not giving eye contact to any of the pass byers.
They were soon out in what the 'map' stated as the courtyard. There were many other students out, laughing around with friends or just minding their own business. Yuki stopped to stare at the over all cheeriness of the situation. Any other time she would have just turned around and walked right back into her room, but she knew that this year she had to get rid of her social fear. Yukinaya just stood there frozen, trying to ignore the questioning looks that she was popularly receiving.
[yeah, only on aim though]

[Me too. I'm 'blackxdinosaur'; on now.]
Rex followed her out the door and down the stairs, observing his surroundings without a care in the world. He stopped beside Yukinaya as she stood still in the middle of the grass. He looked around and saw nothing out of the ordinary. Facing her eye to eye, he inquired, "Something wrong?" He turned around and pointed, "That looks like it." An entertaining thought occurred to him as he realized how much more rundown the freshman building was comparing to the sophomore's. His hand held the ripped strap loosely, heedlessly fondling it with his callused fingertips. His mahogany eyes searched hers, and he saw a sense of sadness, or longing for solitude; he wasn't sure which. He could be wrong, but he had a mysterious gift of predicting others' feelings or thoughts. He didn't give any attention to the stares they were receiving, standing still in the middle of the busy clearing. He was used to curious stares, and was sometimes amused by them. He was disgusted by anyone or thing superficial, and was particularly distasteful towards those who felt the right to judge every action made by others, oblivious to their own offenses.

"Oh yeah, the building right." Yuki perceived in a fast tone, finally breaking out of one of her uncomfortable moments. She gave him a smile to reassure him that she was indeed fine. But the gesture was rather easy to see through, and even she knew that. "Would it be alright if we get out of here?" she asked in a suffocatingly disturbed tone. The stares that she was getting really started to get under her skin. They usually didn't bother her so much, but something about the current moment pushed her slightly over her comfort zone.
Yuki politely made her way past her friend, and hurriedly trotted over to the semi crowded building which she assumed was the freshmen dorm.
"I think this is it." she confirmed, looking over her shoulder to see his response.

Rex nodded in understanding; he may not always be sympathetic, but he definately had empathy. He was too used to stares to even notice anymore; he liked being different, and wasn't afraid to express himself, even at the cost of his popularity. Hurrying to keep up with her fast pace, he came up beside her right as she stopped. Looking over her shoulder at the map and back up at the buildling, he nodded in consent. "This must be it." He decided to lead the way, and went through the doors with a hesitating moment. He stopped to hold the door for his companion, and once she entered, he stopped to dig something out of his bag. After a few moments of remmaging, he pulled out a key with a tag. "Okay, number nineteen," he mumbled, his resonant voice echoing in the comfortable lobby. He took a few steps towards the stairs, looking over his shoulder to check on Yukinaya.
To: Room #19 in the Freshman Dorms.

Yuki met his gaze and this time gave him a true smile that stated that she was back to her 'normal' self again. She walked with him into the staircase, not bothering to make eye contact with a bunch of hyperactive freshmen that seemed to deem the stairs as their new playground. She scoffed at them and continued up until it looked as though they were on the right floor.
They both looked at the number on each dorm room door, hoping that they were some how close. Thankfully, number nineteen finally showed its sneaky face.
"They need signs or something here. This lost and loitering act is getting pretty old." she laughed to herself, moving aside so that he could make his way through to open the door.
