Some extra "inside" tips:
1. Be as descriptive as possible! Now, this does not mean to put ten adjectives in one senence, but it does imply that we want to get a good picture of what your character is like. You want to paint a picture with words of your character's appearance, actions, and other aspects.
Good example: Anna has a bright mind, and a good sense of humor. She is always cracking jokes and pulling pranks. She is outgoing when it comes to strangers, and has many friends. She has a special soft spot for kids, though she won't admit it to her peers. Bad example: Anna is smart, funny, friendly and gentle to kits.
2. Put effort into your application! This means use correct grammar, punctuation and capitalization. This is one of the most important aspects that a lot of members forget. This also means that you should have more than three short sentences; if the application acceptors see that you've put a lot of effort in your application, they're more likely to accept it.
3. Use a combination of long and short sentences. Use conjunctions (and, but, yet, ;, etc.) to combine multiple sentences that are on a similar subject. This makes the paragraphs flow smoother and sound better as well.
4. Do not make your character perfect.
Good example: Anna is an extremely strong freshman that is below average in speed. Bad example: Anna is an extremely strong freshman that is above average in speed as well.
This applies to Personality as well..
Good example: Anna is a friendly freshman that has a temper. Bad example: Anna is a nice, kind freshman who is friendly to everyone.
5. Make sure your character's application makes sense. Be sure your personality is not contradictory.
Good example: Anna is a shy freshman who is timid around strangers, and has few friends. Bad example: Anna is a shy freshman who is friendly to strangers, and has many friends.
